Missed Jobs by Reason Widget

How the Missed Jobs by Reason chart groups missed work by the recorded reason and what to do with the data.

Work Planner TeamMay 28, 2026

Missed Jobs by Reason groups missed work by the reason recorded against each missed visit. It is the fastest way to see whether weather, access, or customer behaviour is the main driver of missed jobs in a given period.

What the Chart Plots

  • Per-reason bars: One bar per recorded reason, where the height shows the revenue lost to that reason inside the selected period.
  • Visit counts: The hover detail also shows how many missed visits made up the bar, so a small number of high-value misses does not look the same as a flood of low-value ones.
  • No reason given: Missed visits without a recorded reason are grouped under No reason given; a large bar there is usually a prompt to ask the team to start recording reasons.

The Reason Categories

  • Customer not home, No access, Customer cancelled: Customer-driven reasons.
  • Weather: Conditions that stopped the visit from being completed safely.
  • Equipment issue: Tool failures or missing kit.
  • Other: Anything that did not fit the categories above; an attached free text note describes the actual situation.

Reading the Widget

  • Persistent winners: A reason that stays dominant week after week usually points at a structural issue, such as weather days being scheduled when they should not be.
  • Workflow signal: A large No reason given bar is the cleanest sign the team needs a quick reminder to pick a reason at completion.
