Vehicle Dates Widget
How the Dashboard shows the vehicle dates that are overdue or due within a month, and the vehicles off the road this week.
Vehicle Dates lists your vehicles' MOT, road tax, insurance, service and breakdown cover dates that have gone by or are due in the next 30 days, so you can see what needs renewing as soon as you open the Dashboard, and which vehicles are booked off the road this week. The dates are the ones saved on each vehicle, and the widget always works from today, whatever dates the rest of the Dashboard shows.
What It Shows
- How many: The line at the top says how many dates need attention, such as 3 dates need attention, or No dates need attention when nothing is due within a month.
- Each date: The vehicle's colour and name, how far off the date is, such as MOT 3 days overdue, Road tax due today or Insurance due in 12 days, and the date itself.
- Order: The most overdue dates come first, then the soonest. The widget shows the first six, and the line at the top still counts them all.
- Colours: Red is overdue or due today, and amber is due within the next 30 days.
- Sold vehicles: Left out, as their dates no longer matter.
- More than one business: It covers the vehicles in the businesses you have selected, or just the ones you pick in the Dashboard's business filter.
Off the Road This Week
Under the dates, Off the road this week lists any vehicle booked off the road between today and six days from now, such as for its MOT, a service or a repair. Each shows the vehicle's colour and name, why, such as MOT, and the days, such as Fri 23 Oct or Mon 26 – Tue 27 Oct. Click one to open the vehicle at its Off the Road tab, where the booking can be changed or cancelled. The list only shows when something is booked.
Opening a Date
Click a date to open that vehicle's popup at its Key Dates. Once the MOT, tax, insurance, service or cover has been renewed, change the date on the vehicle, and the old date leaves the widget, along with its reminders in the notifications bell. View vehicles, under the list, opens Work > Vehicles with all your vehicles and their dates.
Who Sees It
The widget shows for anyone whose role can see vehicles, which owners, admins and members can by default, once the businesses you have selected have a vehicle. It's on by default, and like any widget you can hide it or move it with Edit Layout, where it shows even before you have a vehicle.
