Roles Screen
A guide to the Roles screen, including business selection, role rows, system badges, create flow, and edit availability.
Open Settings > Roles when you need to control role definitions for one business. The selector at the top matters because roles are scoped to the selected business, not shared globally across every business you manage.
What The Page Shows
- Business selector: changes which business you are managing roles for.
- Create Role: opens the create popup for a new custom role.
- Role rows: each row shows the role name, whether it is a system role, how many permissions it currently has, and how many users hold it.
How Rows Behave
- Click to edit: editable rows open the edit popup when you click them.
- Owner and Admin: these are protected system roles and cannot be edited from the screen.
- Delete button: only appears on custom roles that are not assigned to any users.
Why This Screen Matters To Team Management
The Team screen can only offer role choices that exist for the current business. If a role such as manager, scheduler, or editor does not exist here yet, it cannot be assigned to a teammate there.
