Role Details
What a role row is telling you, including system and not-assignable badges, permission counts, user counts, and delete conditions.
Each row on the Roles screen is a compact summary of what that role is and how safely it can be changed. Reading the badges and counts correctly saves time before you click edit or delete.
Badges And Counts
- System badge: tells you the role is one of the built-in roles such as owner, admin, or member.
- Not Assignable badge: appears when the role should not be offered as an assignable choice. In practice, owner is the key example.
- Permission count: how many permissions the role currently carries.
- User count: how many users in the selected business currently hold that role.
What The Actions Mean
- Edit icon or row click: opens the edit popup when the role is allowed to be edited.
- Delete icon: only appears for custom roles with zero assigned users.
- No delete icon: means the role is protected, in use, or both.
Important Rules Behind The Row
- Owner and Admin: protected system roles that cannot be edited from the screen.
- Member: still a system role, but its permissions can be adjusted through the edit popup even though its name stays fixed.
- In-use custom roles: a custom role must be cleared from all users before it can be deleted.
