Working Days and Non-Working-Day Job Handling

How the Working Days card controls active days, planner hours, and what happens when work falls on a non-working day.

Work Planner TeamApril 12, 2026

The Working Days card tells Work Planner which days your business operates, which hours should be shown as the shared working window, and what should happen when a due date lands on a day you have marked as non-working.

Fields On The Card

  • Day toggles: switch each weekday on or off. A switched-on day counts as a normal working day. A switched-off day counts as non-working.
  • Working hours start: the shared start time Work Planner applies to every active day when you save. Leave it blank if you do not want to limit the planner to a narrower daytime window.
  • Working hours end: the shared finish time for every active day. The value must be later than the start time.
  • 15-minute steps: the screen only accepts times in quarter-hour increments, so 08:00, 08:15, and 08:30 are valid, but 08:10 is not.
  • Non-working day job handling: decides how Work Planner should react when a job would otherwise land on an inactive day.

What The Non-Working-Day Options Mean

  • Do Nothing: Work Planner leaves the date where it falls, even if that date lands on a day you have marked as non-working.
  • Move To Next Working Day: Work Planner pushes the date forward until it finds the next day that is switched on.
  • Move To Closest Working Day: Work Planner looks for the nearest active day instead. Depending on the surrounding pattern, that can move the date backward or forward.

What This Affects Elsewhere

  • Planner view: the planner uses these settings when it decides which dates should be considered workable and how future work should appear.
  • Job scheduling: scheduled jobs, repeating work, and date updates reuse these rules whenever Work Planner recalculates the next due date.
  • Operational consistency: if Saturday or Sunday should never be offered as a working day for your team, switching them off here keeps that rule central instead of fixing dates manually later.

If you are changing this card while also editing address, VAT, or branding details on the same page, remember that clicking the save button here still submits the Organisation Information page state as a whole.
