Blog Tags
How the Tags tab works and when tags are a better fit than categories for website blog posts.
Open the Tags tab in the website blog area to manage the smaller labels you can attach to posts. Tags are usually more specific than categories and are useful for repeated themes, services, seasons, or places.
What The Tags Tab Shows
- Name: the tag label shown in the post editor.
- Slug: the saved URL-friendly version of the tag.
- Posts: how many posts are currently using that tag.
- New tag: opens the popup for creating another tag.
When A Tag Makes More Sense
- Use tags for detail: examples might be gutter-cleaning, spring, direct-debit, or customer-advice.
- Do not turn every topic into a category: tags are the better place for labels that cut across several broad categories.
- Keep them reusable: if a tag only applies to one post and never again, it may not need to exist at all.
