Blog Media
How the blog media library works, including image uploads, alt text, captions, and reuse inside blog posts.
Open the Media tab inside the website blog area to manage images used by blog posts. This library is separate from the main Website Media library, so it is worth keeping the blog images tidy here instead of mixing them into page and gallery media.
What You Can Do Here
- Upload image: adds a new image to the blog media library.
- Edit image details: update the alt text and caption on a saved image.
- Delete image: remove an image from the blog media library.
Fields On A Blog Media Image
- Alt text: the text description used for accessibility and as a fallback label when an image cannot be seen.
- Caption: optional supporting text that can be shown with the image when the post layout uses it.
Why These Details Matter
The post editor reuses this saved media data. Featured images and content images are easier to recognise when the library is organised properly, and writing alt text here means you do not have to keep re-explaining the same image each time it is used in a post.
