Editing a Business from Business Selection
How the Edit Business popup works, what the name and colour fields do, and who can open the popup.
Use the Edit button on a business row when you need to rename a business or change the colour Work Planner uses for it around the app. The edit screen opens as a popup so you can make the change without leaving business selection.
When The Edit Button Appears
The button only appears when you have permission to manage that business's settings. If you do not see it, Work Planner is treating the business as view-only for your account or your current role.
Fields In The Popup
- Business name: the main label for the business. This is the name you will see in business selection and elsewhere in the app.
- Business colour: the saved colour marker used to represent the business visually in places that show business identity. The field expects a full colour value rather than free text.
Save Changes
When you press Save changes, Work Planner validates the new name and colour, updates the business, reloads the business list, and closes the popup if the save succeeds. If something is wrong, the popup stays open and shows the first useful error message it gets back.
When To Use This Popup
- Renaming a business: useful after a rebrand or when the original onboarding name was only temporary.
- Tidying colour coding: useful if you manage several businesses and want them easier to tell apart.
