Deleting a Business from Business Selection
How the delete business section works, who is allowed to use it, and why Work Planner asks you to type the business name first.
The delete section sits inside the Edit Business popup and is only shown when you own the business. Work Planner treats this as a high-risk action, so the checks are stricter than a normal edit.
Rules Before You Can Delete
- You must be the owner: non-owners cannot delete the business.
- You must still have access to another business: Work Planner blocks deletion if removing this one would leave you with no accessible businesses at all.
- The business name must match exactly: the confirmation field is there to prevent accidental deletions.
Type Business Name To Confirm Deletion
The confirmation field expects the exact current business name. If the name does not match, the delete button stays blocked and the popup shows a mismatch warning. This is deliberate, because deleting a business removes the associated data rather than just hiding the business from your list.
Delete Business Button
Pressing Delete Business sends the delete request only when all rules have been met. If the delete succeeds, Work Planner reloads business selection, shows a success message, and removes the deleted business from the list.
When Deletion Is Blocked
- Owner only restriction: if you are not the owner, the popup explains that only the owner can delete the business.
- Last business restriction: if this is the only business you can access, the popup tells you to create or join another one first.
