Terminology

How to rename the job-collection wording across Work Planner and what changes when you save a custom term.

Open Settings > Terminology when your business does not call a collection of jobs a Round. This page changes the label Work Planner shows across planners, lists, and forms so the app matches the language your team already uses.

Choose the Business First

  • Business: The selector appears when your login can manage more than one business.
  • Scope: Terminology is saved per business, so changing the term here does not rename the wording for every business in your account.
  • Reloading values: Switching business reloads the saved term for that business before you edit anything.

Job Collection Terminology

  • Predefined options: The built-in choices are Round, Zone, Area, Region, Patch, Catchment, and Route.
  • Other: Pick this when none of the built-in words fit the way your business talks about grouped work.
  • Custom Term: When Other is selected, type the singular word you want Work Planner to use, such as District. This field is required if you have chosen a custom term.
  • Save Changes: Applies the new wording to the selected business.

What Changes Elsewhere

  • Navigation and settings labels: The app starts showing your saved term and plural where that feature is referenced, including places that would normally say Rounds.
  • Planner and work screens: Planners, jobs, quotes, and related setup screens pick up the new wording so the same concept is described consistently.
  • Underlying feature: This changes the wording, not the scheduling system itself. You are still using the same grouped-work feature underneath.
  • Plural form: Work Planner builds the plural automatically when you save. That is why custom terms such as District, Batch, and Territory become Districts, Batches, and Territories later.

When to Leave It Alone

Leave this page alone if your team already uses Round naturally. Changing the wording is most helpful when the default term would confuse staff or make customer-facing language feel wrong for your trade or region.
