Editing a Service
How to update a service safely and what changing the name, colour, or website settings affects elsewhere in Work Planner.
Open a service and choose Edit when the service still belongs in your system but the label, colour, or website wording needs changing. The edit popup returns straight to the Service Information tab because the business is already set.
Fields You Can Change
- Name: Updates the label staff see in jobs, quotes, and other service pickers.
- Color: Updates the stored hex colour used to recognise the service quickly.
- Show on website: Switch this on or off when the service should appear or disappear from the public request side.
- Public service description: Update this when the customer-facing wording needs to be clearer or more current.
What the Change Affects
- Future selection: Staff see the updated name and colour the next time they pick the service in jobs or quotes.
- Website visibility: Public visibility changes affect whether the service is shown on the website side going forward.
- Existing records: Editing the service updates the service record itself. It does not go back and rewrite older notes or descriptions you already typed into past jobs or quotes.
