Passkeys

How to add and remove passkeys for passwordless sign-in, and what the warnings on the passkeys page mean.

Work Planner TeamApril 12, 2026

Open Settings > Profile and click Manage passkeys when you want to sign in with your device instead of relying on a password every time. This is where you register Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or similar secure sign-in methods against your own account.

Add a Passkey

  • Name (optional): Give the passkey a label that helps you recognise the device later, such as Work Laptop or My iPhone. If you leave this blank, Work Planner can still save the passkey, but it will show up later as Unnamed passkey.
  • Add passkey: Starts the device or browser security prompt. This is the button that begins registration.
  • Device prompt: Your device will ask you to confirm with the security method it supports, such as fingerprint, face scan, device PIN, or a hardware key touch.

Your Passkeys

  • Saved name: The list shows the alias you entered at registration time, or Unnamed passkey if you skipped the optional name field.
  • Origin: Shows which site or app origin the passkey belongs to, so you can tell what it was registered against.
  • Remove: Opens the remove-passkey popup for that specific credential.

Remove Passkey Popup

  • Passkey name: If the passkey has an alias, the popup repeats it back to you so you can confirm you are removing the right device.
  • Last passkey warning: If this is your last passkey and you do not have a password set, Work Planner warns that you may need to use Forgot password by email to get back in if you are logged out later.
  • Cancel or Remove passkey: Cancel leaves things unchanged. Remove passkey deletes that credential from your account immediately.

What This Does Not Change

  • Business access: Passkeys do not change your roles, permissions, or business access.
  • Other users: You can only manage passkeys attached to your own account. This page is not used for teammates or handled from Team Screen.
  • Daily work data: Adding or removing a passkey only changes how you sign in. It does not alter jobs, customers, worksheets, or account records.
  • Profile: The page where you open passkey management from the account-management section.
  • Settings Overview: Useful if you want to see how passkeys fits into the wider Settings area.
