Equipment on Jobs and Worksheets
Where equipment is assigned, how it shows on the Planner, on worksheet cards, and on a job, and how the filters use it.
Equipment is a per-job reminder of the kit your team needs to take to the visit. Once a piece of equipment exists on the equipment list, it can be attached to as many jobs as you need, and Work Planner then pulls it through to the planner, worksheets, the job page, and the filters.
Adding Equipment to a Job
- Where it lives: The Equipment selector sits in the schedule section of the job form, next to round and reminder options.
- Selector button: Pressing Select Equipment opens a chooser. Pick one or more pieces of equipment and confirm; the selection shows as small tags below the button.
- Removing items: Each tag has a close icon that removes that piece from the job without touching the equipment record itself.
- Persistence: Saving the job stores the equipment alongside the schedule. Editing the job later loads the same selection so you can adjust it.
Equipment on the Planner
Job cards on the planner show a small hammer icon when equipment is assigned. Hovering opens a tooltip listing the equipment for that job. The same indicator appears on the overdue column and inside historical day views, so prep is visible no matter where the job lands.
Equipment on Worksheets
- Equipment required summary: The worksheet detail screen shows a consolidated Equipment required strip at the top of the worksheet, combining every piece of equipment across every job on that worksheet. The list is deduplicated.
- Per-item badge: Each worksheet item that has equipment shows a small hammer badge that opens a tooltip listing the equipment for that specific job.
- Visual cue: Coloured swatches make a colour-coded list feel quick to scan when grabbing kit at the start of the day.
Filtering Jobs by Equipment
The jobs filters popup includes an Equipment filter. Use it when you need to find every job that requires a specific piece of equipment, such as when a tool is out of service and you need to reschedule the affected work.
Permissions
Equipment is gated by its own permission. New tenants and existing tenants are granted access on first migration so that admins and standard team roles can manage it; if a custom role does not see the equipment area, check the role under Settings -> Roles.
