Navigating to Worksheet Jobs

How Navigate hands a job's address to Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze, and how Work Planner brings the job back when you return.

Work Planner Team1 October 2026

Navigate opens turn-by-turn directions to a job or quote in the navigation app on your phone. Work Planner remembers where you were heading, so when you come back the job is ready to complete.

Where to Find Navigate

  • Job popup: Open a job on the worksheet and tap Navigate at the top of the popup, beside View Job.
  • Quote popup: Quotes on a worksheet have the same button at the top of the quote popup.
  • Route popup: Each stop in the Route popup list has its own Navigate button too.
  • Needs an address: The button only appears when the job, its customer or the quote has an address.
  • Every plan: Navigate works on every plan.

Choosing Your Navigation App

  • First tap: The first time you tap Navigate, Work Planner asks which app to use: Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. Apple Maps is not offered on Android phones.
  • Remembered: Your choice is saved to your account, so it applies on every device and in every business you work in.
  • Changing it: Open My Profile from the menu under your picture or initials and change Navigation app in the Directions card. Choose Ask me the first time I tap Navigate to be asked again.

Work Planner sends the address to the navigation app, which finds it and works out the directions itself. If the app is not installed, the directions open on its website instead.

Coming Back to Complete the Job

Navigation apps do not send you back to Work Planner by themselves. When you arrive, switch back: on an iPhone tap Work Planner at the top left of the screen, and on Android use Back or your recent apps.

  • The job reopens: Work Planner opens the job you were heading to, even if your phone closed the app while you were driving. This works for 12 hours after you tap Navigate. Quotes reopen the same way.
  • Completing it: Mark the job complete or missed and record any payment as usual, then use Save & Next to move on to the next job and tap Navigate again.
  • Another job open: If you have opened a different job in the meantime, Work Planner leaves it as it is.

Your Location

Work Planner only asks to use your location when you open the Route popup, where it starts the route from where you are. Navigate itself does not need your location: the navigation app finds the address. You can change location access at any time in your phone's settings.
