Send and Print Documents Popup
How the Distribute Documents popup chooses templates, unlocks print, email, and text actions, and handles service-date templates.
This popup is titled Distribute Documents because it can do more than print. It is the shared document-distribution tool used when you have selected jobs or customers and want to print, email, or text a document template.
What The Popup Asks For
- Selected items count: confirms how many jobs or customers the document is about to use.
- Select Document Template: chooses which template will be distributed.
- Template description: helps you check you have picked the right template before sending or printing.
- Service Date: only appears for templates that need a delivered-on date, such as service delivered slips.
Why The Template Matters
The chosen template controls more than the document content. It also controls which distribution actions are allowed. Some templates can be printed only, while others allow email, text, or several actions together.
Action Buttons
- Print: generates the document PDF immediately.
- Email: opens the shared Send Email popup with the selected document attached.
- Text: opens the shared Send SMS Message popup with the selected document context attached where supported.
- Close: leaves the popup without sending or printing anything.
When Something Is Missing
If no suitable templates are available for the selected items, the popup tells you that clearly instead of letting you continue with an empty template choice. That is usually a sign that the right document template either has not been created yet or is the wrong type for the selected jobs or customers.
