Pinned Records
Pin a customer, job, quote, invoice, transaction, round or vehicle from its popup, and open it again from the Pinned menu on any page.
When you keep going back to the same few records, such as a customer you're sorting out or an expense you're checking against a receipt, pin them. Pinned records sit in the Pinned menu at the end of the main menu, so each one is a click away from any page.
Pinning a Record
Open the record, such as a customer from the Customers list. At the top of its popup, beside the help button, click the pin. It turns purple to show the record is pinned, and the record goes to the top of the Pinned menu. Click the pin again to unpin it.
You can pin:
- Customers
- Jobs
- Quotes
- Invoices
- Transactions: Payments, charges, expenses and the rest of the ledger.
- Scheduled transactions
- Rounds: Or whatever your business calls them.
- Vehicles
The pin is on a record's details popup only, not on the popups for adding or editing one. You can pin up to 50 records.
The Pinned Menu
Pinned sits after Settings in the main menu, set apart by a line, with the number of records you have pinned beside it. Click it to see them, the one you pinned last first.
- Name: Jobs and customers are named the way your Record Labels setting names them everywhere else. Other records show their own name, such as the invoice number or the expense's description.
- The line underneath: What kind of record it is, then a detail or two, such as the address, the amount or the date. Amounts only show if your role can see prices.
- Opening one: Click it and its popup opens over the page you're on.
- ×: Unpins that record. The menu stays open, so you can tidy several at once.
- Unpin all: Clears the menu after checking with you. The records themselves don't change.
On a smaller computer screen, there isn't room for every name in the main menu, so Pinned shows as just the pin and the count.
On a Phone
Open the menu with the button at the top right. Pinned is under Settings, below a line. Tap it to list your pinned records, tap one to open it, or tap the × beside it to unpin it.
Who Sees Your Pins
- Just you: Your pins are your own. Nobody else in your team sees them, and they're there whether you use Work Planner on a computer or the app on your phone.
- More than one business: The menu shows the pins of the businesses you have selected.
- Permissions: If your role stops letting you open a kind of record, its pins stay put but leave the menu until you can open them again.
- Deleted records: A record that is deleted comes off the menu.
