Multi-Select and Batch Moves
How planner selection works for jobs, rounds, overdue work, and quotes, and what the action bar is really acting on.
Planner selection is what turns the screen from a read-only schedule into a batch action tool. Once items are ticked, the selection bar starts showing totals and the planner actions begin working against that selected set rather than against the whole screen.
What You Can Select
- Single jobs: Tick an individual job when only that occurrence needs action.
- Rounds: Tick a round header to select every job currently shown in that round for the date or overdue section you are looking at.
- Whole day groups: Day-level checkboxes let you grab all jobs shown for that date.
- Overdue work: The overdue column has its own selection behaviour, separate from the dated columns.
- Quotes: Quotes can also be selected, mainly for worksheet assignment and grouped movement.
Why the Selection Bar Matters
- Count: Shows how many jobs are selected.
- Total duration: Helps when you are trying to judge whether the selected work is realistic for one worksheet or one day.
- Total price: Gives a quick value check before you batch-move work into another operational step.
Important Selection Rules
- Planner works by occurrence: A job appearing on different dates is treated as separate planner occurrences for selection purposes.
- Dragging can use the full selection: If items are already selected, dragging one selected job or quote can move the whole selected set.
- Worksheet actions only use valid jobs: Jobs that are already on an incomplete worksheet are filtered out of the add-to-worksheet job count so you do not accidentally try to assign unavailable work again.
What the Selection Unlocks
- Add to Worksheet: Sends selected jobs and selected quotes into the worksheet flow.
- Update Date: Changes the due date of selected jobs in one pass.
- Batch drag-and-drop: Lets you move selected jobs or selected quotes together.
