Daily Summary
See what is on for the day each morning, and how it went each evening, across all your businesses.
The calendar icon in the app header opens your daily summary. In the morning it lists what you have on; after your working day it reports how the day went.
What The Morning Summary Shows
- Your jobs for today: the jobs due today that are on a worksheet assigned to you, in the order you would work them.
- What to collect: the price of the work, plus anything the customer already owes.
- Nobody assigned: jobs due today that are not on anyone's worksheet yet, so they do not get missed.
What The Evening Summary Shows
- What you got done: how many jobs you completed, and how many were missed.
- What you took: payments and tips recorded against your jobs today.
Takings are counted as soon as you mark them on the worksheet, so the figure is right straight away rather than waiting for the worksheet to be submitted.
When It Arrives
The morning summary is sent half an hour before your working day starts. If you work across more than one business, it uses the earliest start of the day so it reaches you before your first job anywhere. The evening one follows the end of your working day.
You can set your own time instead. If you have quiet hours switched on, the notification waits until they finish - and if that would make it more than an hour late, it is not sent at all, though the summary is still there when you open the app.
The Dot On The Icon
- A coloured dot means there is a summary you have not looked at yet.
- No dot means either you have already seen it, or there is nothing on today.
- Nothing on: on a day with no work, no summary is sent and nothing pops up.
Opening It Automatically
Once your working day is over, the evening summary opens by itself when you next open the app, or when you come back to it after a while away. It never opens while you are moving around the app or on top of another popup, so it will not get in the way of finishing a worksheet or taking a payment.
The morning summary does not open by itself. Tap the morning notification, or the calendar icon, to see what is on.
If you would rather the evening summary did not open by itself either, turn off Open this automatically at the end of each day at the bottom of the summary. The calendar icon always opens it, so you can still check whenever you like and turn the setting back on from the same place.
All Your Businesses Together
If you use Work Planner for more than one business you get one summary covering all of them, with each business listed separately inside. There is no need to switch business to see what is on.
