What's New Popup
How the What's New popup opens, what it shows, and why closing it can clear all unread updates at once.
The What's New popup is the release summary Work Planner can open for you when there are unread updates on your account. It is designed for quick catch-up, so you can see the latest changes without leaving the screen you were already working on.
When The Popup Appears
- Unread updates: the popup only auto-opens when there are changelog entries you have not read yet.
- Normal signed-in use: this automatic reminder is intended for your normal signed-in session.
- Impersonation: when someone is impersonating your account, Work Planner does not auto-open the popup for them.
What You See Inside
- Version and date: each entry shows the release version and the release date.
- Major and New badges: these badges help you spot bigger releases and unread items more quickly.
- Release notes: headings and bullet points are preserved so the update is easy to scan.
- Footer button: the main button changes between Got it and Close depending on whether anything is still unread.
How Closing The Popup Works
This popup is more aggressive about clearing unread updates than the badge popup. When you dismiss it while unread entries are still showing, Work Planner marks all of those unread changelog items as read in one go. That is useful when you have already skimmed the list and just want to clear the reminder.
If everything in the popup is already read, closing it simply shuts the popup without changing anything else.
Empty State
If the changelog list comes back empty, the popup shows No updates available and gives you a simple OK button. That is mainly a fallback state, but it also means the popup never leaves you stuck if there is nothing to show.
